Allbee / Butcher / Schick / Zapparoli

Liz Allbee - trumpet
John Butcher - saxophones
Ignaz Schick - turntables, sampler, electronics
Marta Zapparoli - tapes, reel to reel tape machine, antennas

This unusual group mixing  turntables, tapes, analogue electronics and electromagnetic waves with two acoustic wind players convened in Nov 2019. It was one of the 4 combinations curated by Butcher and ni vu ni connu for a weekend of concerts and recording at ausland, Berlin.
Post pandemic it has risen again and recently visited the Densités Festival in France. The concert will be soon broadcast on Radio France.

Sound and noise actually expand into the infinite, mixing and mating so that unheard-of combinations emerge.
Jazz ’n’ More - Thomas Meyer.

Turntables, samples, tapes and other electronic gadgetry form the basis for this fabulous recording - sometimes the foundation is so rhythmic that you want to say: Let's dance! If it weren't for the constant background noise. Albee and Butcher use this basic clatter to give the overall sound its decisive form: sometimes wildly forward, then again discreetly on the surface or even in the background in such a way that their presence can at best be sensed.
freistil - Holger Pauler.

A sound theatre of a sulphurous cosmic battle of malfunctioning toys, capable of assuming zoomorphic characters, - or emulate hydraulic-mechanical systems designed by Tinguely, which vent from cracks inside drifting spaceships.
Blow Up - Dionisio Capuano.
